Wilmoths Open Triples Competition at Cheriton Bowls Club
This Saturday Bowls teams from across South East Kent competed for the Wilmoths Citroen Open Mixed Triples Trophy at Cheriton Bowls Club, Folkestone. 20 teams took part in the annual competition including teams from Boughton under Blean, Cheriton, Folkestone Park, Canterbury, Lyminge, Wear Bay, Folkestone, Hythe, Kearsney and New Romney.
Each team played three games throughout the day and with the weather staying dry and sunny there were a large number of spectators some of which had never been to a bowls match before.
At the end of the day several teams had won all three of their games so the final result came down to shot difference.
In 3rd place was Don Farrar and his team from Folkestone Park, 2nd place was Heather Rice and her team from Folkestone and this year’s overall winners were Jason Trow, Rodger Herridge and Pat Barkass from Folkestone Park.
Hugh Coleman President of Cheriton Bowls Club said “I was very impressed by the high standard of bowls played today and I would just like to say a big thank you to all the teams that took part. I would also like to thank the competition sponsors Wilmoths Citroen of Folkestone for their continual sponsorship of this competition and Club Captain Sharon Todd and her team for organising such a successful day”.
